There are many different sports played in Oklahoma, including a few professional sports teams that call this home. The most prominent in professional sports is the NBA team, Oklahoma City Thunder.  But the Oklahoma City Dodgers can’t be overlooked either. This Triple-A level of the L.A. Dodgers are here, and so is the Rugby team, the Crusaders of Oklahoma.

If baseball is your game, OKC hosts the Big 12 Baseball Tournament each year as well as the World Cup of Softball. The NCAA Women’s College World Series is held here too each year, and the city has also hosted the NCAA Men’s Basketball First and Second round. In 2007 and 2008, the Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments were hosted here, and it is OKS where the annual Bricktown Showdown of Triple-A Baseball is played.

The state has several country clubs, golf courses, and tennis clubs. The college circuit and high school circuit offer many different sporting activities. Like the “Polo Bowl” between the Cyclones from Casady School and the Chargers from Heritage Hall School. And who hasn’t watched, or at least heard about the Texas – OU games that alternate years played in Oklahoma and Texas?!

But sports that involve a ball aren’t the only sporting events in the Sooner State. There is Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred horse racing held at Remington Park. There are several horse shows and other equine events one the state fairgrounds annually.
